minimize fibro, MAXIMIZE LIFE!
When I first started out, I felt my duty was to share every possible Fibromyalgia (FMS) fact, theory, detail, option, etc. I could possibly find with all of you. Two decades plus later, I have concluded that I was very wrong. The "Fibro World" does not need someone else regurgitating yet again what so many others have already said. I currently see my role as leading you to information and people you can trust to provide you with the basics of Fibromyalgia (FMS) and more than basics, should you choose to delve deeper. (I do not believe you have to become a "Fibromyalgia Expert" to LIVE your fibroLIFE.) Next, I see my role as helping you understand the importance of symptom tracking. I believe in the importance of this so much that Kathy Keeney & I have dedicated much time and energy into developing a symptom tracker that is "point-on" for those with FMS, as well as "doable": The fibroLIFE Symptom Tracker. Why do I want you to track your symptoms? I assure you, I would not stress it were it not necessary. It is the only way you can work with your healthcare professionals knowledgeably and it is the quickest way for you to work together in successfully developing the most effective treatment plan for you. While you are tracking your symptoms, I also believe my role is to lead you to people you can trust to educate you about Traditional, Integrative, and Functional Medicine Treatment Options and how to assemble and work with a healthcare team. I am not going to pretend this does not take time and energy--it does. I am in the process of developing Fibromyalgia Made Simple to walk you through the process. I will assure you, it is time and energy well-spent. That is sort of where fibroLIFE actually "left off" but, while it was a logical stopping place, it just did not sit well with me. Minimizing fibro and MAXIMIZING LIFE has to be more than just helping you assemble and work with a healthcare team to develop an individualized treatment plan. It has to address our interaction with the world around us! Thus I have gone on to found Every Life is a Story and Every Life Travels. I believe that we all have the tendency to share with others within our own niches--our own groups, belief systems, organizations, etc.--yet still we expect those outside of these niches to understand us, agree with us, share our interests, etc. I firmly believe it is imperative that we who are living a fibroLIFE not confine ourselves to "fibroworld". Yes, it is true that many do not believe us or understand us. Yes it is true that you will feel too badly to interact with anyone some days, let alone someone who does not believe you or understand you, but we must remember everyone is facing something! Every Life is a Story! Each life begins as a book of blank pages. We choose the content of those pages--we each write our own story. Sharing those stories inspires, encourages, and empowers those who hear them. I am passionately writing my story and sharing the stories of others. This helps us maintain perspective and remain connected to the world as a whole. It also spreads understanding and dispels misconceptions about Fibromyalgia! I also believe we should LIVE our fibroLife to the fullest extent possible. Take that dream vacation! You want to go on safari, let's find a way! No, it will not be exactly the same as it would be if you did not have Fibromyalgia, but that does not mean you have to miss out on it totally! We only get one shot at this life! Yes, people are going to talk and say they knew you were faking it when they find out you went on a vacation, but they are talking already! You cannot let that cause you to miss LIVING on your GOOD days! Whether it is your dream vacation or just doing things locally, it is my goal that Every Life Travels! Every Life--no matter the circumstances--LIVES is my passion. I LIVE a fibroLIFE (Fibromyalgia). Tracking your symptoms, working through Fibromyalgia Made Simple, writing your own story--and sharing it-- because Every Life is a Story, and making the most of your good days--Every Life Travels, whether literally, figuratively or both--that is what I believe I am here to encourage each of you to do! As long as you're breathing, KEEP LIVING! This is truly the path to minimizing fibro--all adversities--and MAXIMIZING LIFE. ~Meshea |
fibroLIFE© is not a another support group.
It is a LIFE-style approach which places the emphasis on LIFE rather than fibromyalgia.
